DevOps Engineer

Arkivum is looking for an experienced Cloud and Operations Engineer to provide creative technical solutions to our product deployment and support of existing infrastructure using DevOps techniques.

A self-motivated Engineer you would join a dynamic team, supporting a rapidly evolving product, based in our Reading, UK office. Bringing your excellent Cloud and DevOps knowledge to us. You’d enable us to respond to the high volume and rapidly changing data management needs of our customers.

Key Tasks

  • Automating and orchestrating the deployment with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD) techniques
  • Build and configure container technologies for Docker Swarm and Kubernetes
  • Help drive Security Practices in all implementations
  • Build a great working relationship with team members and the Java based application development teams
  • Develop and mentor junior team members
  • Troubleshoot production issues




  • 5+ years’ experience within IT, including over 2 years in a DevOps capacity
  • Hands on experience within a DevOps culture, supported by lean / agile delivery methodologies
  • Experience with deploying to AWS and GCP is a must, with Azure is an advantage
  • Hypervisors such as VMware vSphere, and XenServer
  • Infrastructure as Codeand automation tools Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins
  • Production experience of Docker Container technologies with experience of Kubernetes
  • Experience with using monitoring tools, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack
  • Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills
  • GCP certification Professional in Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer
  • Able to multitask, prioritise, and manage time efficiently.



  • An understanding of authentication protocols such as Oauth and SAML
  • Production experience of using Nginx as a load balancer
  • Intimate knowledge of the Linux operating system with a focus on CentOS
  • Proficient with scripting in Python and Bash
  • Solid understanding of git
  • Any experience with Open Source, large data storage applications such as Gluster, Ceph, and/or minIO
  • Working knowledge of NoSQL and Relational databases technologies such as MongoDB and PostgreSQL
