Paula Keogh, VP and Sector Lead, HE, Archives, Libraries & Heritage will be presenting “4 strategies to tackle action paralysis in digital preservation of digital corporate archive data” at the ARA Section for Business Records Summer Seminar. The event will take place in Edinburgh on Wednesday 3 July 2019.
In this lightning talk, Paula will introduce 4 key strategies to employ to help address the issues of never quite feeling ready enough to jump into digital preservation of your corporate digital archive data:
- She will talk about building a compelling business case, and how this is the first step to getting on the ladder of preserving your precious born-digital and digitized assets.
- She will also cover how minimal effort ingest addresses the vast majority of the work digital archivists need to do; without affecting good archival practice or impeding progress.
- Phased approaches to tacking collections are her third tactic.
- Finally, she will outline how to get the trade-off between automation and control right to engender the right mix of trust and haste in your digital preservation strategy.
