Introducing Arkivum 6.5: Faster, More Efficient, and Packed with New Features!

Blog Anthony Wells

We’re excited to unveil Arkivum Version 6.5 – the latest and most powerful update to our industry-leading digital archiving and preservation solution!

Packed with cutting-edge features, this release takes data migration and user experience to new heights. With new tools, it’s now faster and simpler than ever to migrate and manage your data within the Arkivum system.

The update is available to new and existing customers this month.

Dashboard UI Overhaul

Perhaps the most noticeable change with the 6.5 update is the new look dashboard which incorporates the updated Arkivum branding and colour scheme (as launched in July this year). This will be deployed to all customers, and brings a new clean and modern look to the Arkivum dashboard.

As part of this change, we have also made it possible for customers to rebrand the Arkivum solution in their own colour scheme and branding. This feature will help customers to embed their digital archiving and preservation tools and processes deeper within their organisation.

Please note that this is not included within the standard subscription service.

IngestIQ: Data Migration in Minutes, at Scale

Arkivum has developed a new migration tool, which delivers a secure, validated, and scalable way to prepare, process and check large datasets before ingest into the Arkivum solution. IngestIQ delivers data migration, in minutes, at scale.

IngestIQ has been designed to simplify the migration process, automatically preparing data from certain supported sources, before ingest into the Arkivum system. This includes automatically generating associated metadata for each file and replicating the source hierarchy structure within the Arkivum solution.

The tool will initially support data exported from several eTMF systems, with other exports to be supported in future. The new tool significantly reduces the level of effort required to migrate large datasets into the Arkivum system. Additionally, IngestIQ ensures, with evidence, that data integrity is maintained throughout the entire process.

New Standardised Tools to Improve Data Upload & Ingest

In addition to IngestIQ, the 6.5 update introduces a news features aimed at improving the process of adding content to the archive, ensuring it’s more efficient and user-friendly than ever before.

The first of these tools, is the new Ingest Wizard. This feature has been introduced to guide users through the most common ingest options in only a few simple steps, making it easier than ever before to add content into the archive.

Secondly, users can now both update files and records within the dashboard and include or exclude specific files during the ingest process. This ensures users can ingest only the data they need, saving valuable time. It also eliminates the need for a full migration when replacing files within a whole collection. These changes deliver more flexibility and efficiency to customers managing larger data migrations into the Arkivum solution.

Expanded Supported Preview Formats

File Previews are a great tool for quickly viewing and reviewing files directly from the Arkivum dashboard. In version 6.5, we’ve expanded the range of supported formats that can be previewed within the system. The file preview feature now includes support for audio, video, tabular data, and HTML files.

Additionally, we’ve increased support for life sciences-specific datasets, enabling the preview of SDTM and ADaM study data. It is therefore now possible to review and check these records without leaving the Arkivum system, easily maintaining a complete audit trail and supporting alignment to the ALCOA+ principles.

Summary

Arkivum 6.5 introduces an array of new features, including a refreshed dashboard, enhanced tools for ingesting data into the archive, and expanded support for previewing a wider range of datasets. As mentioned previously, the update is available to new and existing customers this month.
