Arkivum 6.7 Brings Multi-View Dashboards and Auto Ingest!
We’re excited to announce the release of Arkivum 6.7, the latest version of our digital preservation and archiving platform. This update builds on the improvements introduced in December and delivers a host of new features designed to simplify workflows, enhance system performance, and provide even greater flexibility in how you manage, preserve, and access your data.
Here’s a closer look at what’s new in Arkivum 6.7:
Move Data to Fits the Way You Work
Arkivum 6.7 brings together two powerful ingest improvements that simplify and speed up the movement of your data. Auto-ingest lets you identify system locations that are regularly monitored and automatically ingested into Arkivum, including metadata where available, so content from external sources (for example, SharePoint) is captured with minimal manual effort.
Complementing that, a new folder-structure ingest option replicates existing folders and subfolders directly into the system. For many organisations this mirrors how data is already organised, removing the need to prepare a full CSV template and making it far easier for new users to get content into the system.
Together, these features reduce manual steps, speed up ingest, and make it easier to bring external content into Arkivum in the structure you already use.
Targeted Preservation
Preservation in Arkivum 6.7 can now be activated at any level, with an additional “files only” option.
This gives users more granular control, reduces duplication, and makes preservation both lighter and more efficient.
New Multi-View Dashboard
The new multi-view dashboard when you enter the system makes it easier than ever to get an overview of your system. From data size to file
types and usage statistics, users can quickly monitor their content and spot key trends.
- A quick search bar allows you to enter a term and jump straight into your content, streamlining the search workflow.
- Quick links to datapools, saved searches, and root collections turn the dashboard into the go-to starting point for data retrieval.
This marks a step change: the dashboard is no longer just a view, but a central hub for system activity and future reporting enhancements.
Smarter Metadata Management
Metadata in Arkivum 6.7 is more powerful and easier to work with than ever before. New picklists provide both suggested and controlled drop-down options, helping users complete fields quickly while ensuring entries follow pre-defined standards. This makes metadata entry faster, more consistent, and easier for teams to adopt.
At the same time, metadata schemas can now be updated on-demand. Previously fixed once set, schemas can now evolve alongside your data, giving administrators the flexibility to add new descriptive elements as requirements change. Together, these updates provide a more guided, intuitive experience for users and greater control for admins.
Smarter Filters & Retention Reminders
You can now filter content based on system fields and retention schedules, giving more control over reviewing and managing records.
Retention reminders take compliance a step further by allowing overdue alerts to be re-triggered and sent to the right team members. This ensures nothing slips through the cracks, vital for regulations like GDPR.
2FA by Default
Arkivum 6.7 introduces a new 2FA flag, enabling two-factor authentication to be switched on by default for new users. This makes it easier for organisations to ensure all accounts are set up with stronger access controls from day one, in line with industry good practice.
Looking Ahead
Arkivum 6.7 marks a major step forward in making digital preservation smarter, more automated, and easier to manage. By combining improved usability, flexible preservation options, and an enhanced user experience, this release enables organisations to achieve more with less effort.
